I have to say the hair in the linked image looks better than the one arrived at in the tutorial, the use of white highlights and the fact that the highlight on the head doesn't follow the curve of the head unfortunately detract from the quality of the work.
Awesome! I love the layered colors! I do have a question though... I have been working on a piece and the model has white hair... I have tried using shaded greys for the deeper tones but the highlights are where I am having trouble. Her hair almost glows when the light hits it. How do I fix that?
Hi there! You can better color the darker tones more to the blue side. If you use the white till black gradient colors it will look flat. Try to give it a nice light, very ligt blue color instead of white. The highlights then, can be white~! You can't make white any more white/bright. So you shuold choose a slight darker color then white, so you can add the highlights without it looking strange.
